A lot of people are just mimicing the media in overblowing the significance of Iowa. Hell, Bill Clinton lost Iowa and New Hampshire in '92 before winning the nomination--and the election.
The real campaign will start after those two states have their say.
Watching the ABC New Hampshire debate tonight, Ron Paul said the price of oil since 2000 has tracked the price of gold--it's up 350% vs the weak dollar and 200% vs the Euro. Americans are now paying much more for oil relative to the Europeans thanks to the weak dollar. Paul says a lot of good things, but then he talks idealistically about dismantling big corporations and other power structures, and loses people--especially the media.
The questions were poor for both parties tonight. The ABC poll said the two most important issues for callers were the economy (45%) and the environment (23%). Neither was discussed by the Republicans and both were not discussed enough by the Democrats. Blame it on the moderators, who are framing these debates. They should listen to their own polls.
