Slicks?

Chris,

I believe it was in the related thread that you mentioned the possibility of Dunlop "Slicks". So this next question will demonstrate for all to see my vast IGNORNACE of the NASA GCR:

Are you allowed real SLICKS in your GT class, or does that "S" signify "street" tires only?

Either way, recent Formula One racing, when Michelin was competing with Bridgestone for top honors, demonstrated that EVERY tire (compound and carcass) has a performance curve characteristic. For our 911, we used to love the Goodyears (GS/CS) and the Hoosiers (R3SO3s) for their CONSISTANCY over the long haul. With the changes in carcass and compounds in the Hoosiers, some other less desirable changes (like a 20-minute good life) may have crept in??!??
