Obviously there are enough PC-obsessed, uptight, panties-in-a-wad, hand-wringing ninnies on this forum where a little dark humor involving joking at our own mortality is somehow "verboten".
However, it's Wayne's forum, Wayne's rules. If he (or his moderators) think someone (me included) crosses the line, I can certainly respect that. If it's me, I'll certainly be the first to stand up and apologize to them for any indiscretion.
However, in the case of a bunch of uptight prudes who aren't moderators but want to "play one on TV" because an innocent joke about a trainwreck of an individual like Brittany Spears happens to hurt their poor widdle eyes or whatever, I have a hard time respecting that. To me, it's just more evidence of just how screwed-up this country is today as a result of this "PC" nonsense. I CAN'T respect that at all. Life isn't always pretty. People get hurt. People die. It's part of our reality. People can't all be winners, can they? Not everyone deserves to stand on the podium or get a trophy. That's life. For one, I prefer to call stuff as I see it - not as I would necessarily like it to be.
I guess I'll just stick to the Brittany pool we have going in the office for my amusement. C'mon August 12!
