I was thinking it would be healthier to not have a Clinton be the heir to your presidency.

I have a militia-type uncle who is into conspiracy theories, most of which centered around the Rockafellers and the Trilateral Commission back when I was growing up and impressionable. When Reagan was elected and Bush senior was his VP, my uncle predicted that there would be an attempt on Reagan's life, because Bush was the Trialeral Commission's man. Militia Uncle had several related theories on why there were so many attempts on poor Gerald Ford's life (Nelson R. was his VP) and why there were no attempts on Carter. When Hinckley did shoot Reagan my uncle pointed out that Hinckley's family was connected to Bush's family. And he correctly predicted that there would be no attempts on George Bush during his presidency. Saddam tried later.

All of that impressed me mightily at that age. Still, in the back of my mind I think if I were Obama I might be more comfortable having Clinton infront of me, not behind me on the presidential podium.
