Heard a writer on the radio once. Golf book author, was asked about his best (true) golf story.
He related about a young man invited to a private (members only) course to play. This newly monied (owned his own businesss, millionaire, etc.) guy was the youngest in the foursome.
At the first tee he asked about betting. One older guy said they always bet a "dollar per hole." The young guest laughed and made fun of such a low wager. For all 18 holes he kept an ongoing commentary about how well off he was (business doing great) and how he played other places for 1k per hole!
After their round was finished they went to the clubhouse for drinks ...the newcomer still bragging about himself. One of the older guys asks the waiter if he could bring them a deck of cards ...which he does. The man opens the deck and begins shuffling. The older gent then asks the 'kid' about how much he felt his company was worth currently? The kid answers "Oh about (** million)."
The old guy looks around the table at his friends, then places the deck of cards on the table between them ...looks at the new kid and says , "Ok, high card... for **million???"
Old money vs New money. Wealth is relative.
