Aside from the Diary subs and conservation land, I am not so sure any other farmers see any of the money you think they do. I know a bunch of farmers and I have to tell you, none are getting paid anything from the government not to farm.
This has been a myth for sometime. There are some that get something but they typically have farms inaccess of 20,000ac.
For those of you with a hard-on for the farmers of America, try talking to some in Kansas, Iowa or Nebraska - real farmers.
