I think it could be worn alternator bushings. If there is no grinding noise, then you can keep it going with a better fitting fan belt. I'd look for the Continental belt, or the Porsche OEM belt. Gates and others don't seem to fit as well. The Porsche belt has to be ordered and shipped from Germany and can take a few weeks.
Another potential problem may be a worn pulley, which may cause fit issues with any brand of belt.
