Mulholland Dr. day hike guide...

If anyone else decides to take the plunge and are not really familiar with the terrain, there are some things to know and carry.

Cell phone - make sure its charged. Plenty of coverage up there and it's possible to take a tumble and need to call for help.

Water - In the car and on you if at all possible. There are no Starbucks or 7-11s down there!

Sun block and a hat - The sun beats down on that area after noon.

Camera - You never know what you may see/find.

Hiking boots/long pants/long sleeves - The hill is crawling with Poison Oak.
This is what it looks like right now. Google it and learn!

If you have never had Poison Oak and come in contact, you may end up with a mild case and located in only on place. Once you get Poison Oak, it becomes worse with each subsequent encounter. You really don't want to end up looking like this:

Take a shower and wash really well, as soon as possible!

Remember to lock your car! ()

Don't go in the spring/summer/fall - Plenty of Rattle snakes, fleas, ticks, black widows...

Please don't litter, there's enough trash already down there .

Most of all, have fun and be safe!
