For 23 years I was married to a woman who felt that, as long as she thought something was true, it was appropriate for her to say it. It might be a cheap shot aimed at someone who was already feeling poorly but she always acted righteous because it was "the truth."
Truth-schmooth. Just because something is true, or as in this current instance, somebody FEELS or BELIEVES it.........does not make it an appropriate remark. Nice try Mul, but to answer your query, yes. It is still hatred. Pointing out that you believe it does not wash it clean.
Tim, I too have not walked a mile in the moccasins of a black man. Where I grew up, there were NO black people. None. Town of 2500 people. County seat. Pretty busy town for only 2500 people. There was a black UPS driver that would come to town occasionally, and folks would STARE. Still, notwithstanding my limited experiences, the principles outlined in Dr. King's famous speech are something of a litmus test, I think. If you can read that speech and not be moved by it......there is something wrong with you.
