My guess, and it's only a guess, is that the Alpha part is advertised for 69-73 because those are the ungalvanized years, and therefore the market for the part. The Alpha part may not be galvanized either so you'd be mixing metals--don't know if that's a problem, aside from the rust-prone issue. As far as I know, the lower rear of the fenders are the same through 89, and the alpha part should work for you. Certainly, others who are expert should respond, but this is my understanding.
