Next week doesn't look like it will be much fun.
I just got off the phone with one of my closest friends, Dan (we met in '87, and have been like brothers since then,) and learned that on Tuesday night he lost his young mother Doreen, 67, to Lou Gehrig's disease.
A week ago last Sunday, both myself and Dan lost our good friend Matt, a local music icon, aged 54, to kidney failure.

Matt's services will be on Sunday. Doreen's services will be on Tuesday.
I was hoping for a better start to 2008.
