I also have a recently-purchased B6 intercooler for an '86 930 that I am planning to fit in a month or so when I have engine out for a clutch job.
Holding the IC above the standard one doesn't give me warm fuzzy feelings about fitting it.
Because the B6 header tanks are front/rear compared to left/right for standard IC, many of the smaller hose connections are in different places (no real drama), but main problem looks like mounts that are in different places.
I'll watch this thread with interest!
