I was into driving this one route every morning this time last year. About a mile from my house, there is about a mile section, maybe a total of 7 or 8 lights in all. And they were all out of sync. Light turns green, and get to just about the next intersection and it turns red. And over & over. Really weird.
At least 3 mornings a week, I would meet up with this total idiot, driving a city truck, a big Ford crew cab diesel with yellow lights on top. This guy would literature open it up at every green light, complete with loads of black smoke. CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACL-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-VVVRRRROOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!. All the way to the next light, and then SLAM on the brakes. After a nice little wait he’d take off again. He did this at every light. What made the whole thing funny was that after about the second week, I figured out that if you drove this entire section at about 15mph or so, you never had to stop. Hell, it got to the point to where I didn’t even need to use my brakes. It was truly a beautiful thing. I would roll right by him most times as he was chopping that throttle open. Next light, same thing. I could only imagine how angry he was to see me do this. He just never got it. Either that or he was actually getting his rocks of kickin’ that motor like that. A real man, he was.
I found another route after about 3 straight months of this.I think I’m going to take that route in the morning!!! See how my buddy is doing.
