Lee, went and looked at a motorcycle jack this afternoon in Missoula. Interesting. $99. 1500 lb.
Basically a bottle jack with a scissor lift. Needs about 15 inches of clearance. No problem, with the car on jacks.
Nice wide platform. About twice as wide as my floor jack. Front wheels straight. Back wheels swivel.
My only concern, is that the scissor lift collapses toward the shift coupler. With much more forward travel than the floor jack. Because of the scissors. So you have to pull back as you lower the shift rod out of the tunnel.
You'd want to put an 800 weight on it and see how much control you have with the valve on the bottle jack. Too fast and it would be worthless.
