Heh. The original 'S' fuel pump wasn't starving my motor for fuel (according to both measured AFR's and flow rates), but it seemed noisy (it runs when the key is turned - yes, I know), and I was suspicious of it - especially since the invoices for the last 15 years didn't include a new one that I could see, and the tub has 250,000 miles on it...
So I fitted an 044 as insurance when I bolted on all the goodies.
The brand new pump sounds exactly like the original one did. So much for that...
