Well, don't know what kind of car we are talking about. I've never done any belts on a 928, but I asume the crankshaft TDC can be looked at though a hole in the bell housing. It should be a line, mark, "0" or something to line up with a pointer, I guess. This is on the rest of FE watercooled.
