These heads were rebuilt by Steve Hollingsworth. Northern California Air Cooled guys will know Steve. He is considered a top air cooled machinist and engine builder. The Type 1 people sing his praises and bus crowd is high on him too. He now has a shop in Phoenix,
Spark plug hole cracks were welded up and retapped. New seats and guides. Steve felt the intake valves were good, cleaned them up, and reused them. New stainless steel exhaust valves were installed. Chamber sizes were measured and marked.
I had him do the work on these for a 2.0L rebuild. To meet a deadline, I had to source a pair of heads elsewhere. Now these were extras.
