I'm working on a theory....

I don't think that we can negotiate with Iran without the threat of a military response. I also don't think we can beat Iran...while they have the backing of Russia.

Could Putin be purposefully drawing us into a conflict with Iran? Does he want Iran to be to us what Afghanistan was to the USSR?

Think about it, Russia gets to sell weapons to Iran and oil to the U.S. The conflict inflates oil prices making Russia even more wealthy--while draining the U.S. of money, resources, and influence. Russia gets to claim top-dog status in the world...
