I believe when he refers to angle he is referring to the 2 up-right portions of the wings. He is wondering why the width of the up-right is wider in the rear of the tail and narrower in the front on some examples.
The black car above has it's vertical portions of the tail that are equal width apart when the front is compared to the back....while the gold wing is more narrow in the front and wider in the back.
He is not talking about the angle of the wing-plane
