I pay a lot of attention to words. Not sure why. I just do. Anyway, I often notice individual words and phrases appearing for periods of time on the various political talk shows and such. For instance, I recall the word "glidepath" started to pop up in various context's back in 2004. And after Tony Blair publically supported the US in speeches soon after 9/11, he used the phrase "At the end of the day" which was soon repeated on many US TV shows and such. That phrase is obviously not an American-ism...it clearly was a product of the American love affair with Britain in general and Blair in particular.

So the latest word I have heard on the talk shows is "snarky". I heard it first on the Chris Mathews Show. Then I heard it on Family Guy and then a few more cable tv shows. Yesterday I heard it on NPR. I find it interesting to follow these words as they flow through the culture. So has anyone else noticed the word "snarky" (or any other buzzword) popping up lately?
