Very true, I hung out with a guy who was born in Hilo for awhile... he did OK with a little creative living... grow your own fruit... raise chickens... barter with the neighbors etc.
But yeah, Hawaii is probably just a dream... plan B is to retire here is So Cal... darn, someone pass the spicy tuna roll please.
