You just need to raise it to a safe working height cause you won't get it high enough to clear the motor and work on it comfortably/safely.
***** man, if your using jackstands you may seriously consider pulling the rear bumper cover and heat shields so you don't have to raise the car as high.
You won't get it high enough either way without a pretty serious jack, like one that goes up say, 30inches? or so
