Even IF second hand smoke had no effect on the health of others, it's still a respect issue. Why should my wife spend her entire meal coughing due to the smokers in the adjacent non-smoking section? It's one thing to have your own habit, but entirely another when you force it upon others against their will.



you have it exactly backwards. there is nothing preventing you, or anyone, from starting a restaurant, and banning smokers.
