We, as 924/944/951/968 owners, have figured this out on our own and have taken advantage of a great opportunity. I have always wondered why more people don't know about our lil' "secret". Anyone who is looking at buying a "sportscar" SHOULD be getting one of these cars.....no doubt about it. I guess the "high maintanance costs" scares a lot of people off, but in realty, this whole "high maintanance" theory has been laid out by........get ready for this........US!!!
We all know it's not THAT expensive to keep these cars. Hell, any car that blows an engine will cost around $2000 to fix - it's a wee bit more to repair a Porsche - but not as much as everyone seems to think.
I don't tell ANYONE what I paid for my 944S, or even the year sometimes. I've had people tell me they thought it was a new car and cost around $50-60,000. These cars are enigmas and it has to stay that way.

Tell them they don't handle very well also
I have had my car for a year so I'm no expert but I'm not sure I would agree with you that "it's not THAT expensive to keep these cars" however I would say they are worth it.
