I did it when I was younger.
Not that it makes it any better but we had a .25 mile section of one way, two lane, non residential expressway we did it on. We had clear vison for at least a half mile.
This is just a tragic accident.
I can believe there were olders folks there, though. We had several fathers, uncles and such that would come out to watch if there was a BIG race.
