Uh, no. You must be new around here(?) PWD, while definitely an enthusiast at one time is now just a carmudgeon with a burning hard-on for modern Porsches. Probably modern anythings. As though Porsche could still build skinny-wheel air-cooled 200 hp cars in the 21st century, yeah sure. That makes sense.
There was absolutely nothing sentimental about the designers of our cars. They were obsessed engineers who were competitive beyond belief, building weird sports cars that won races. Nothing has changed, other than the cars are a magnitude higher performance in keeping with the times. Check out PWD's signature line if you don't believe my statement above. And if you ever meet him, ask him why even the great engineers at Porsche started liquid-cooling the race cars back in the early '70s.
