If it were mine, I would simply remove the float bowl and if it looked relatively free of gunk, I would then dump some gas in the tank, check for flow at the petcock, check for flow at the carb loosen the drain screw on the bottom of the float bowl, then fire it up.
Of course if the float bowl is full of shiit, It would be wise to take the carb out and spray some carb cleaner thru it to be sure the jets are not gooped up.
