Anyone wanna try and guess what started to 'bug' him about the car ??
Putting 8 G into it whenever the dealership combed over the car and fixed the little nagging things for him - might have bugged him. ..
My guess is that the dash became a nuisance to him. No matter how nice a color that is, you can't have that under the windshield when the sun is beaming down...or you end up with a terrific amount of glare. It has to be a darker shade there imo. I've tried driving my folks Buicks with light tan dashes and it's abysmal how bad the visibility is cut down. What I did for them was buy 2 SQ YDS of Black felt cloth from Joann fabrics. Then, cut it to match the top of dash with the defroster slot. After an hour or so, you can place it to fit - and voila - much better visibility.
Believe it or not it's actually dangerous to do that on a dash. ...Volvo and BMW have always had
matt black finishes on their dashes.
