Some of you may have seen my irritatingly persistent WTB posts on the cars for sale bulletin board. I've been searching for an affordable long-hood project for over a year. Given my small budget, I had resigned myself to a beat up roller to restore.
Out of the blue, I got an email from a couple in Louisiana who had a '67S for sale. They were willing to sell it to me for a great deal in the hopes it would go to a good home. My wife and I flew out, bought it and arranged shipping. It took a whole month to find a truck, but it finally arrived yesterday. I can't believe it all worked out.
The car hasn't been run in five years. It was flooded for an hour in 14" of water. Nevertheless, the interior is great and I can find only surface rust. The suspension mounting points are solid and the car is almost all original. All numbers match and the engine turns freely! I can't wait to clean her up and start bringing her back to glory.
