We've decided to get a Golden Retriever. We both grew up with dogs in our homes but have not had dogs in the 21 years we've been married. Dan is 16 and Becky is 12 and she has wanted a dog since she could talk. Becky babysits all of the neighbor's dogs and has seen every episode of "Dog Whisperer" and has read Cesar Millan's books. We'll have to get an "invisible fence" for the backyard.

We would prefer a female, slightly smaller Golden and I have 2 local veterinarians looking for us and I've contacted Guide Dogs for the Blind to see if they have any "washouts" that need a good home. We've had ferrets for 11 years and before that we had lop rabbits, but we've decided to make the leap to dogs. I'd actually prefer a German Shepherd, but my daughter and wife prefer (strongly) a Golden and the dog will be Becky's. Becky is a very, very responsible 12 year old and she is very serious about the work that goes along with having a pet.

Anyone have any puppies available?
