I think the above is fair. For example, I might ask "why most people in the NBA are black?". I might followup with my own answer. "I heard that it is because they have a longer achilles tendon."
- its true that most people in the NBA are black
- I dont have any negative emotion feelings on the subject
- Its not my intention to berate
- ...but it might not be true that they have a longer achilles tendon or that if they do, it makes any difference
I would suppose the followup statement could be considered a bit racist but I would suggest that it depends on your audience and might be considered careless and insensitive in some circumstances. Not racist though
