Parents: A note about meds for your child.
My daughter was prescribed Cephalexin (antibiotic) for a very nasty cold. The original prescription came as a horrible pink suspension that smelled like puke. Just terrible. My already sick daughter was very upset by having to take the stuff. It was bad news for both of us. And she was going to need it 3 times a day for 10 days!
My wife is a doctor, so she poked around and found out that cephalexin also comes in small capsules. Our daughter is only 4, but she can swallow pills. This was a HUGE improvement in the situation.
Long and the sort of it: If your kid needs to take medicine, inquire about the format, because there may be other options.
