If you are hoping to fix your dim dash lights by bypassing this, give up now.
Your problem is not in the switches or the wiring. Your problem is the same as all of have. The reflectors for the dash lights have become dull with age. Or they have lost most of the reflective coating.
You can re coat them and put in new bulbs, or go one step further with LEDs
