It's not the resistor that is making your lights dim. It's more that the reflective material used to redirect the dash lighting is falling off. There are many options to fix this and there are so many threads on how people have done it. Many have replaced the standard lights with LEDs while others have replaced the reflective material and kept the factory light bulbs. That's a personal choice on which way you go. Do a search on the forum on the past posts and it will tell you everything from a ten dollar solution to about a hundred dollar solution.
