Back east I saw way too many idiots think that they were invincible in their AWD/4WD's.
They would drive the same if not worse in 3 inches of snow as they did in optimal conditions.
They were a hazard to themselves and put everyone else at risk with their ignorant selfish delusions of invincibility.
I prefer NOT to share the road with people like that.
My point is it is not a replacement for sensible driving.

Ha....that sounds like me, I drive the speed limit in snow whether I am in a 4x4 or sports car until I get to civilization where some douchebags drive 40 mph on the highway when it is sprinkling rain. I am invincable until I come up on some dingbat driving 25 mph in 1 inch of fresh snow with both hands stuck to the wheel like a tongue to a sled in the middle of a blizzard

I fit right in when driving in northern Michigan where people realize that cars can safely navigate 1" of snow at more than 25 mph.
PS, at 41 yrs of age, other than rolling a beetle in highschool, I have NEVER wrecked a car driving in the winter.
