If it's still gummy, you can push on it and rub it off with your thumb. It just rolls up into a ball...

If it's hardened, you want to soften it with some adhesive remover first. The high-tech way to go is with a rubber wheel (looks like a big eraser). You'll need pneumatics for the high speed. I used to remove emblems on Lexuses many years ago and it never harmed the paint. If you're nervous or don't have the tools, go to a good detailing shop so they can remove the backing.
