hoyabear: Sounds like you might have your eye on a pretty decenet machine there.. PPI should tell you that. The chromed Turbo Twist would have to go as you suggested... dependat upon your needs and your taste, there are a lot better choices out there for the money rather than going back to the stock 7 & 9" wheels.

If the PPI checks out, $24K would not be unreasonable for an 88. The 930 market is all over the board right now with the 89 usually bring the highest prices as a stock unit.. anywhere between $35-$40K... however, that's not to say that some of them have not sold lower, and some earlier cars have also sold higher.

For the record.. 78 &79 and 86 through 89 are US cars and tend to bring more money based on condition, mileage.. stock or modded. The other cars 80 through 86 are all ROW or euro models and tend to bring less money, although many of them are great cars.

If you need a good shop for PPI send me a PM..

confused: Of the 930 series Targas would be the rarest as fewer of those were produced than cabs. Personally, I've never figured out what the attraction is to an open top car with the potenial speeds etc.. that a Turbo offers. The rarity of coupe vs. cab vs. targa in my opinion kinda falls into what exactly it is that you want. Some folks assume or but the open cars on a pedistal as being rare, however for the true driver or enthusisast they are less useful.

budge96: The G50 trans and hydraulic clutch system was offered one year only on the 930.. that would be 89. Not that important to shifting, as the old 4spd 930 trans is not that bad.. it actually shifts better than a 915 which it is most often confused as being.

87 was the first year the 930 was "re-introduced" to the US market with 89 (the only year for 5spd trans) being the last year a Turbo was available until 91. The 91 and 92 Turbos are 964 based and are really nice cars with significant changes to the tub, supension, interior, and exterior look. Same 5spd as offered in the 89 and same 3.3 motor.

Hope that helps you..

Paul
