I've had a good run, but the $10K tranny rebuild was the end of the road budget-wise. I could have gone cheaper but it would have been lingering death. You can do the track pretty cheaply if you have some self-control and a willingness to "go halfway." I have neither

The other thing is that my son is 11, and he isn't getting any younger. The next 7 years are going to be critical so I need to be a parent first. I need to focus on those hobbies that I can do with him. At the track he is a bored spectator. In the surf, on a bicycle, shooting pictures and making movies, he's a participant.

I'll likely still be hanging around POC though and may still do some instructing. I have some video to cut, and want to do a few more. Hell, I can even afford to buy more gear if I'm not spending $1K+ each race weekend.

The other thing is that I really need to be working on my "art" (music, photos, writing). There's only so much time and money in the world. I'll get back on the track a few years down the road. After you guys get enough seat time to beat my class records
Todd,

Everyone reaches a point where change is needed. Best of luck in your sale and connecting with the other aspects of your life. Like everything else in life you move to and from many things.

Enjoy the kid, make a life.
