Most new Porsche buyers are looking for image and the 'F-U factor,' so none of this is surprising to me. In sure in the mid 70s, some of the owners sneered at the 'old' short hoods, too. And the 3.2s sneered at the SCs, and so on. Now the older cars are in the hands of enthusiasts, or eccentrics, depending on you point of view. I have never had a new Porsche owner acknowledge me on the road (the track is another world), and frankly I prefer it that way.
