your Euro makes nearly the same HP as a 32V'er, so what's to prevent you from blowing it to the same power levels as John's high mileage twin turbo S4?

Nothing, except a fairly large chunk of money---

Russ, the reality of 10.4:1 compression WITHOUT MODERN ELECTRONICS is that you cannot reliably run more than 5 psi of boost through this engine. And since 5 psi only gains you a small amount of extra power...supercharging is now an exercise in money spent for little gain. Though I've never tried it, I bet a good set of Hoosiers on the S2 without the supercharger would probably be just as fast as a 5 psi blown version of the same car with 200 treadwear tires. You can put these Indiana racing tires on the back end of a car for $300; a supercharger kit will be between $4000 and $8000.

All I know is that right now, I have 200 treadwear Falken RT-615's on my car, and I cannot floor it in first gear, even from a rolling start. I go about 100 feet, the engine get's into its' RPM range, and the back end goes sideways. Second gear does the same thing at a higher speed.

How the hell do the supercharger people keep from getting sideways on a regular basis?
