At best, science provides a model for the behavior of things in various situations. When flaws are found in the existing models, new models are developed.

Contrast that with how "man-made global warming" is approached. We are told that it is the truth because of consensus among scientists, yet we are not given the actual models. Whenever anyone challenges a model or exposes a flaw, they are attacked for having a real or imagined agenda--what they are actually saying is not heeded. The models are seen as static and above reproach--a position nothing else in science enjoys.
