The PCA Porsche Parade is being held this year in Charlotte, NC, just a couple hours from my cousin's place in Apex (actually, I just got back YESTERDAY from visiting him and taking a weekend trip - with a group of college-aged co-eds

- to Myrtle Beach). Would any of you recommend the experience? I am *this* close to sending in my registration form, but I have some reservations:
I will be attending a full-time teaching certification program starting in June or early July; I am not sure if the dates will conflict with the Parade. If they do, I would be able to drive down for, at best, a long weekend.
Also, I don't know any other PCA members down there. Or up here, really... I've been a member for a number of years, but have only really attended the car shows. I've been friendly with the members at these meetings, but I haven't made friends in the same way that I've made friends through Pelican.
Considering these factors, should I send in the registration form? If you DON'T register, you can still do things like attend the concours events, car shows, etc., right? In other words, I will be able to get into the Parade (but not take part in banquets and rallies) even if I don't register, right?
I'm eager to hear your opinions and experiences.
