plastic fuel lines do run thru the tunnel. you might want to pull the shifter and e/brake assembly out and evaluate the repair, and see how far away the fuel lines are. i would use a hammer, and various other prying and tweeking devices to work it back into shape and then weld it back up. a wire feed, using a line of overlapping spot welds wouldn't create much heat. have someone inside with a hose doing fire watch. if you go to sell it, prospective buyers are not going to like seeing a patch.
