Many years ago my ex was moving out of state and calls me .
" Do you remember the $1000 my parents gave us to buy a stove and fridge when we got married ??? I'd like that back ......" she tells me .
I then pointed out that it was given to "us" , not her .
She then tells me she'd like her $500 .
I knew it was about money so I told her I didn't really need any thing that nice and I would buy a used stove and fridge .
And that she should come and take them . She was welcome to them .
Still get a smile from time to time when cooking on "our" stove or getting something from the fridge .
