That was one of my first "dream cars" as a kid, I love 'em!
With only 400 or so of them made in 80/81 or so, and with them never being intended to be a full on production car, I'd imagine that parts availability is really tough, though. A lot of the interior bits are standard parts, but I think a lot of the engine parts are M1 only, and things like the windshield, body, suspension, brakes, etc., I wonder.
I'm a big BMW fan, and that car was so outrageous for BMW to come out with. At the time, BMW was still a very conservative company, and the M1 was nuts!
