Tough choice for sure.....I think my vacation cabin was the best investment I've ever made, and I gotten a lot of enjoyment + it's now worth 6 times what i have in it.
Your market might drop in the short term, BUT - I have several friends retiring in the NE and instead of moving to Flordia, they are now looking at SC, NC, GA. and Tenn......FL has driven them out with their high Prop taxes and insurance.
With many baby boomers approaching retirement age, you place will go up in valve, given the time. SO, I think being debt free is a a great feeling, I'd say keep it as long as you can!!!!!
