I agree with AFJuvat,

I have Bursch on my 87.

When I bought the headers I wasn't planning on replacing the studs but after 14 years they have rusted quite a bit. I didn't try but I think you can get the new headers on without the stud removal. (may take some time getting the right angle)

I ended up removing the studs and putting new ones in, without the studs there, the headers slide right into place.

I like the bursch sound, haven't had a chance to hear msds.
