Fed 'loaning' money to investment firms.
I returned yesterday afternoon after 3 weeks on the road in India. Brain is still a bit hazy.
Caught the news via internet while overseas, but did not really have time to digest the current state of affairs until today.
Please correct me if I am wrong on two points:
1) The federal government is loaning hundreds of billions of dollars to investment firms to keep them solvent, a step it has not taken since the 1930s. These 'loans' sure as hell look like 'investments' to me. So while the workers at these firms have walked away with hundreds of billions in bonuses, they have effectively driven their companys into the ground by purchasing absurdly speculative financial products based on low grade mortgages. And now tax payers are going to foot the bill.
2) Hillary Clinton still believes that she can be elected president.
