At least Porsche keeps spare engines handy, Audi denies there is a problem and voids warranties before it will replace an engine.

I just picked up an E30 325i and as I look it over it looks VERY DIY friendly.

Besides I am off to Japanese land from now on. My FJ Cruiser has CRUSHED my Audi in the reliability department.
Audi at least helps cover the cost, be thankful your not a Corolla owner with a sludge issue, they completely deny issue and will not assist in the repairs either.
