How? They claim they can't jam a bigger engine in the existing architecture, and making a bigger flat six is going to get past the efficiency curve pretty quickly (see 16 cylinder 917 from Rennsport III). I'm not making this up - I know I've read that they just can't keep making bigger flat sixes.
